Beijing Day 3: Great Wall of China and Temple of Heaven

The 3rd day was my favorite day! This was the day I set foot on the Great Wall. Well, we've been to China in 2007 and I was super devastated to learn that Guandong is very far from Beijing. Argh. So when we returned to China I told D that I'm willing to give up other sights just for the Great Wall. That, and Pandas. Hehe!

We were down at the lobby earlier than our sundo so we camwhore muna.

We needed to start the day early because we will be travelling for 2hours going to Badaling. According to our friends and to my research, Badaling is the less-crowded part of the wall. Apparently, there's more entrance going in. By 7:30am, we were already on the van going to Badaling. Around 9:30, we were here -

We rode another shuttle to go up. There's a tour guide but naturally I didn't understand a thing he said.

The ticket booth lines were short. Wow we're off to a good start! But surprise surprise! The lines going to the lift naman were very long pala! It didn't help that it was very hot also. Well, our friend told us to wear something warm because it will be very cold up in the wall so I wore long-sleeves! Argh!

Here's the lift by the way. If you want to have the lift to yourself or to your group exclusively, get ready to be disappointed. They will not allow that. It's understandable naman with the long lines after us pa.

Here's the view when we're a little bit up na. See that long winding line? We were there!

Here's a few more minutes up. It's so magnificent!

Here's our first step on the Great Wall. D took this picture. That's his shoes in gray and my foot in blue (the shoes I bought in H&M the night before!)

Of course, the obligatory solo shot -

The only Earth structure that can be seen from the moon -

And couple shot for my TYR Tours album -

Nakakaloka tong picture na to. At first, it was only D who's doing that pose. Then after a while everyone's doing it na. Look at this picture. Epic diba? Haha!

That's the highest tower nga pala. Super daming tao! Di tuloy makasolo. Anyway, after this the road will be going down na. I'm not worried about this at first. If going down, ang worry mo lang ay how to control yourself so hindi ka nasusubsob right? Not in the Great Wall! Hahaha! Look at this picture. I grabbed the pole at the side para macontrol ko yung pababa. I was so slow! Slowly but surely nga diba? D was taking my picture tapos tawa nang tawa. Check nyo nga bakit -

Eto pala! Close up picture. Nagtraffic daw dahil sa akin! Hahaha! Sorry na!

E super tarik talaga! Tingnan mo nga si kuya oh. Gumagapang na pataas!

Actually, may shortcut naman talaga pababa. Remember, we rode a lift going up? Meron din nun pababa. E yung mga kumag naming kasabay aba dumerederecho! E super layo na sila para tawagin kaya we followed them na lang. Ayy super layo pala pag by foot. Lawit na dila ko. After an hour, we finished it na rin. About time na rin. Aba tirik na ang araw! Couple shot muna bago bumaba.

Actually, pwede mo pa derechuhin yan. Kami we chose to go down na. Pagoda cold wave lotion na e. We followed the people papunta dun sa Badaling Zoo Safari. Mejo di naman kagandahan yung view so we went down na rin.

Then 2 hours again on the van. We reached Beijing past lunch time na. We ate at this restaurant na ang specialty at Beijing Roast Duck or more commonly known as Peking Duck. Beijing's old name pala ay Peking. Dun pala galing yun.

By around 3pm, we went to the Temple of Heaven na. It was huge and nice and crowded! Haha!

Couple shot!

Then there's this oval something in one of the dome na pinagkakaguluhan ng mga tao. As in unahan sila makatayo sa oval. Haha! Mejo pinalipas namin yung mga tao so we can capture this picture -

Astig diba? Eto jump shot -

Ang cute lang ng mga temple -

Tomorrow, we asked if we can take the subway. Gusto ko itry!

Pagoda this day,
Yosh
