North Ride Day 3: Vigan

Our target that day was to get back at Uncle's house by lunch. Then rest for a few hours, then ride back to Manila. We woke up around 6 in the morning and we were greeted by this amazing sky. Believe it or not, it was a sunrise.

By the way, here's the area where we pitched our tents. Ours was in the far end pa, near the beach. This was taken from the resort's kitchen.

We had our hotdogs reheated then we ordered eggs and coffee lang. But it came in full presentation pa, complete with utensils and everything. Super thumbs up for this resort. Ang asikaso lang nila! Plus the supplies were cheap than the usual resort prices. By the way, we only paid 200 per tents pitched. O diba ang mura? Next time you go to Pagudpud, look for the Dos Hermanas Resort.

After gearing up, we proceeded with the ride na. We stopped numerous times because I was looking for ref magnet of Bangui Windmills and Pagudpud pa. So we were able to stop for this picture. Di lang masolo ang frame dahil andaming tao. Argh!

This one, the Ilocos Norte arc, mejo ok na -

As planned, we reached Uncle's house by lunch. Then we decided to let the sun go sideways a little bago magproceed. Ang inet kasi abot singet!! So we took a bath muna then slept until around 3pm. We went to Vigan muna to buy Chichacorn and mas masarap na empanada. Sinira ng fake empanada sa Paoay Church ang idea ko of Ilocos empanadas e.

Around 4:30pm, traverse na kami! We met some club co-members pa along the way. This one (2nd from right) is the Maitim #1 of Club CB110 with his misis. Yung nakayellow Maitim #2 na lang. Hehe

We reached home around 4 in the morning. Tiring but fulfilling experience. Oohh I'm sure D had fun.

Me tired but happy,

North Ride Day 2: Paoay Church, Cape Bojeador, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation and Pagudpud

So, I told you in my previous post that we will be leaving the house early right? Oh well we woke up just right, around 5:30 in the morning but we left late. It's 8am already. So yes, super init na! Sabi kasi malapit lang naman ang Pagudpud (which was our final destination by the way). Three to four hours away lang daw.

Our first destination - Paoay Church.

There were a lot of devotees already at the church since it's Holy Friday. So silip lang kami saglit, then we said our prayers. Tapos ayun hanap na kami makakainan. Unfortunately, Herencia Cafe was still closed so we circled the church first to get something to eat while we wait for the cafe to open. We had this very tasteless empanada and halo-halo. Hindi talaga masarap! Buti na lang by 9:30 in the morning open na ang Herencia so we were able to taste their very famous Pakbet and Gamet Pizza. It was super good! Ang sarap ng cheese. Hehe

After the very sumptuous meal, we went ahead na with the ride. We stopped for this pala -

We tried to go to Cape Bojeador Lighthouse. We reached it naman but there were a lot of people. Only D tried to go up the Lighthouse. Buti na lang I didn't kasi sarado naman pala yung taas. Yes!

Around lunchtime, we were already at Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. We paid, 15 pesos each pala for environmental ek-ek. Anyway, when we reached the point where you have to go down, I bailed out na. Super init kasi and I can't find anything interesting in the rock formation. So I just waited for them up in the hut.

Here's their picture oh. Anong special? Hehe

Around past one in the afternoon, we reached the Bangui Windmills. It was still as beautiful as the first time I saw it.

Finally, we reached Pagudpud. The first time we were there, we stayed in the Saud Beach area. This time, we stayed at the Blue Lagoon area. The place where the very expensive Hannah's beach is located. But first, we made this side tour to Patapat Viaduct. Grabe ang daming tao!

Ang saya lang ni D dito. Last daan kasi namin dito umuulan so we weren't able to stop for pictures. Anyway, going back, we reached Blue Lagoon around 3 in the afternoon. But nahirapan kami maghanap ng accomodation. Oh yes, since it was an impromptu ride, wala kami reservations. That's why we brought tents. But na lang there's this resort at the end na of Blue Lagoon area that allowed tents. Yehey! Thank God for Dos Hermanas Resort. After pitching the tents, we prepared na our baon lunch which turned out to be merienda/early dinner na.

After a little rest, we decided to explore the beach. Masaya naman. Look na lang at our pictures. Ganto kami kalayo sa main beach ng Blue Lagoon. That's the cove down there?

Zooming in -

Pero ok lang din kahit malayo kami sa main beach. We were near naman this beautiful rock formation. We were able to appreciate it more pa since low tide that afternoon.

The boys tried climbing the big rock but I said no na since mejo unsafe ang path.

I allowed D to climb this.

Some cute shaped rock -

And of course, us in the very picturesque Pagudpud -

North Ride Day 1: Cabugao Beach

My very stressed husband pushed this Holy Week Ride. With all the bad vibes he's been getting from work, he needed this very much. If we followed the pattern, this holy week ride should be our Panay Loop but we lack moolah and companions. Next, it was planned to be the Palaui tour but then again people backed out. Buti na lang Leo and Glenn came up with this ride. Ok let's do the kwentuhan and photo flooding. Shall we?

We met up with Leo around 12 in the morning on Holy Wednesday. Eerr make that Maundy Thursday already. We drove to Pafi Drekz house first to get something but we decided na magstay ng kaunti because traffic in Edsa was like hell! At that wee hour of the morning. Lahat yata ng tao paalis din! It's a little bit ok lang naman since we have to wait for Glenn na manggagaling pa ng work.

By quarter to 2, we went to this Shell station na to meet Glenn. Here's the trio's picture before the ride officially started. It's around 2 in the morning then.

We had some stops along the way. We have to, mejo sleepy na ang boys e. This stop was my favorite. I'm not sure if I should call this stop because for me it's already our first destination. Here's the trio in Quirino Bridge. Apparently, this bridge marks your entrance to the Ilocos Region. If I remember it right, we reached this around noon already.

Shempre, we have our own pic here -

By around 2 or 3 in the afternoon of that Maundy Thursday, we were already in Glenn's uncle's house in Cabugao Ilocos Sur. It's in front of the very famous Cabugao Beach Resort. We were here na before so nothing new naman. Except the house na ginagawa pa lang nung first punta namin ay gawa na. And these Aratilis trees, with hammock pa! Nice resting place.
After the palengke sessions of the boys (yes! sila ang nagasikaso ng food. Prinsesa lang ang peg ko sa ride na to), we jumped in the beach na. The water was lukewarm. Super relaxing! And the best part, the sand was super fine! More like Boracay's sand but in white gray color. Look here, we were able to get a glimpse of the sun before it set.

After the short but very much needed dip in the beach, we headed back to the house to freshen up and prepare our dinner. Hindi na naman ako nakapagpicture! Tomjones na e! Anyway, we slept early that night. No bonfires for the super tired riders. We needed to sleep kasi early pa kami aalis the next day.

Wellmanson is now open on Sundays and Holidays

Hooray!!

It's confirmed! My favorite bead shop is now open on Sundays and even Holidays too! Yey! Ang saya ko lang. Before kasi Monday-Saturday lang sila and they were closed on Holidays. Now open everyday na. Ang saya talaga! More time for my bead crafts na!

I called them last Tuesday to ask if open sila the next day which is April 9, a holiday here in the Philippines. The one who answered me said yes. I wasn't able to go anyway but I was there last Saturday and I saw the sign with my own eyes.

The store hours is even extended from 6pm to 7pm na. Yehey ulit! Hindi naman halatang ang saya ko lang talaga. Hehe!

Happy crafter,

Hindi na nagsawa sa Nagsasa!

Finally, after ilang posts ng paghahabol, I'm up to date until our current roadtrip na! Yehey!!

Last weekend, D forced me to let him join their club's March ride. Forced talaga mga ateng! Kasi ayaw ko sya payagan. Why? (1) Nagtitipid kami (2) I set a rule that Sundays are family days (3) Balak ko sana dalawin yung house namin sa Antipolo with my tito para macheck nya. At first, ok lang kay D na hindi sumama but as soon as he heard na kasama lahat ng friends nya sa ride (the BODs of Club CB110), aba kating-kati! And then he committed us to join! Bilang wala sya pera, his friends pledged for his expenses para lang makasama sya. Leo said he'll pay for his gas then Royden will pay daw for our boat ride and food. Spoiled!! Tapos yung plano ng bahay, gagawan na lang daw nya ng paraan. Regarding family day sunday, nevermind na. Mejo di pa nya magets ang importance ng concept na yun.

Hindi pa rin ako bumackride. After my very traumatic experience which you can read HERE, never pa ako nag-long ride again. Takot pa e. I'm convincing them nga na cage (kotse) kami sa Holy Week e. We'll see. Now, I'll let you glimpse our pictures. Mejo konti lang to, busy kasi kami kaluluto while ang aming guests ay mga sitting pretty na nagaabang na lang ng food. Haayy! I cannot complain since libre lang ako dito. Anyway, here. Enjoy!
The oldies with some joiners

March 23, 2014 La Primavera Resort Matabungkay, Lian, Batangas

Ooohh it's a bit far than our usual summer getaway. Normally, dun lang kami lagi sa kanto pools. Improving this year. Hehe! Reason being, my tito bumped into a little fortune so he decided to treat the whole family to an out-of-town beach adventure! Hooray! Plus nag-boracay kasi sila mag-asawa, iniwan ang mga tsikiting. And knowing those brats, di sila pumayag na di magbebeach ulit na kasama na sila. Good for us! Hehe

There won't be much kwento here. Just photo overload. Bear with me! Konti na nga lang to e, just my favorites.
